The Congress places care at the heart of a global conversation on democracy, community, territory, migration, rights and the sustainability of life.
A place for reflection and international dialogue
For two days, the island of El Hierro will become a meeting place for people, organisations and institutions from around the world committed to care, social justice and human rights.
The Congress will bring together voices and experiences from the Canary Islands, other parts of Spain, Africa, Latin America and other regions that face shared challenges and offer valuable lessons about care and human dignity. Held in an island and border territory, the Congress offers an intersectional perspective that recognises the diversity of experiences, cultures, bodies and ways of living in and sustaining the world.
Against the backdrop of the profound social, demographic, economic and environmental changes we face, the Congress poses a shared question: how can we build fairer, more liveable societies rooted in solidarity by placing care at the heart of our collective life?
